Electric Vehicle Incentives

The following incentives are available by jurisdiction. Customers should confirm their own eligibility and be aware that government programs are subject to funding limitations and eligibility criteria may change at any time, including during the period between placing your order and taking delivery of your vehicle.

Incentives Available Today

Federal Incentives

For individuals & businesses: Up to $5,000 for purchases or leases on:
- Cars with an MSRP* under $55,000. Higher priced trims of these vehicles, up to a maximum MSRP of $65,000, are also eligible for purchase incentives;
- Station Wagon, SUV, Trucks with an MSRP under $60,000. Higher priced trims of these vehicles, up to a maximum MSRP of $70,000, are also eligible for purchase incentives.
Vehicles are still eligible for the incentive even if delivery, freight and other fees (like vehicle colour, add-on accessories, and other options) push the actual purchase price over the set “MSRP” limits, so long as the vehicle (year, make, model and variant) appears on the federal government’s list of eligible vehicles.
Individuals are eligible for one incentive under this Program in a calendar year. Businesses and provincial/territorial and municipal governments operating fleets are eligible for up to 10 incentives under this Program in a calendar year.
Vehicles delivered to customers prior to being published to the list of eligible vehicles do not qualify for incentives.

For businesses: If not participating in the above incentive, the enhanced capital cost allowances (CCAs) enables a higher deduction in the year that an electric vehicle is put on the road (up to 100% of $61,000, for vehicles acquired between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023).

Provincial Incentives

View available incentives by province:

- For individuals: Up to $4,000 in incentives, on an income-tested basis, for qualified individuals when the vehicle purchased is published on the provincial eligible vehicle list. The onus is entirely on the customer to pre-apply for incentives via the BC government website, to receive the required paperwork from government prior to delivery, and to notify your delivery advisor well in advance of your delivery date, or the incentive cannot be applied to your purchase. - Carpool lane access (with official EV decal).
- Up to $350 towards the cost of eligible charging equipment and installation, including the Tesla Wall Connector when installed in private houses.
- For businesses and organizations: Up to $3,000 rebate for cars with a base price (MSRP*) under $55,000 and larger vehicles such as SUVs with a base price under $70,000.
- Up to $7,000 rebate for vehicles with a base price (MSRP*) under $65,000. Learn more.
- Carpool lane access (Green Plate required).
- Up to $600 rebate on Wall Connector and installation.
To qualify, the vehicle must also appear on the government’s list of eligible new vehicles. All incentive programs, timings and rules are subject to change by government at any time. Delays sometimes exist in updating the list during model-year transitions and when incentive programs are modified.

- Individuals may only obtain one EV rebate per 12-month period. Businesses and organizations may obtain up to 10 incentives per 12-month period.
- Individuals only, up $2,500 for the purchase or lease of an EV from a Canadian vehicle retailer if delivered prior to March 15, 2024. Learn more.

Program eligibility is based on delivery date and date of application for rebate.
- $7,500 for passenger EVs which have a base-model MSRP* of not more than $65,000. Other trims of the same model also qualify for an incentive.
- To be eligible, individuals, businesses, organizations, and community/indigenous government must be in a community connected to the NWT’s hydroelectric grid.
- Limit of two rebates per person or organization per fiscal year (April 1-March 31).
- Applications must be submitted by March 10, 2024. Learn more.
- Up to $3,000 in provincial rebates for any vehicle that qualifies for the federal purchase incentive program. View Federal Incentives above.
- Individuals may only obtain one EV rebate per calendar year. There is no limit on provincial incentives for businesses and organizations. Learn more.
- Carpool lane access, where designated (Green Plate required).
- Up to $5,750 in provincial rebates for any vehicle that qualifies for the federal purchase incentive program. View federal incentives above.
- Individuals may only obtain one EV incentive per 12-month period. Businesses and organizations may obtain up to 5 incentives per 12-month period. Learn more.
- Up to $5,000 for passenger vehicle models with a base MSRP below $60,000. All variants of the same model, even if priced above those thresholds, are also eligible. Learn more.
Yukon residents are eligible for two rebates during the lifetime of the program. Organizations and businesses registered in Yukon are eligible for up to 10 rebates per calendar year. This includes First Nation governments and municipal governments.
- Up to $750 rebate on Wall Connector and installation when installed in a private residence (up to 50% of purchase and installation costs).

*Federal definition of MSRP
The “MSRP” (manufacturer’s suggested retail price) shown on this page is based on the definition established by Transport Canada for the purposes of the iZEV federal EV incentive program. This definition is generally also adopted by provinces for provincial programs. Per the federal government’s definition, the price used to qualify vehicles for incentives excludes delivery-related and other fees that may be included in our online store pricing, as required by provincial regulators. In some provinces, regulations prohibit the listing of the MSRP in Tesla’s online configurator or by store personnel who are obliged to communicate an all-in delivery price. The following is Tesla’s pricing prior to applying these delivery fees and charges, including the Federal Luxury Tax. As such, pricing may differ from amounts shown in our online store; click the 'Online' link next to each price to view all-in pricing:
